Alert: Scam Targeting Digital Job Seekers — Protect Yourself!

Intro post:

Incognito Web Technologies is dedicated to digital trust and cyber safety. We are raising awareness about an active scam targeting internet users and job seekers, where fraudsters pose as HR professionals and marketers from trusted web development and marketing companies, including ours, to solicit paid Google reviews and risky digital tasks.

How This Scam Works?

  • Fraudsters initiate contact via WhatsApp or Telegram, claiming to be employees of Incognito Web Technologies or similar reputed agencies.
  • Victims are added to “work groups” posting daily tasks—such as writing Google reviews, subscribing to YouTube channels, or sharing online content.
  • Initially, participants are paid for every 3 completed tasks, encouraging commitment and compliance.
  • Over time, scammers escalate to tasks requiring investment in cryptocurrency wallets with unrealistic promises of high returns. This is a key stage where the risk of financial loss is extreme.
  • Victims are forced to complete every assigned task, increasing dependency while escalating the risk.

Warning Signs & How to Stay Safe

  • Unsolicited recruitment for paid reviews, digital tasks, or social media engagement.
  • Requests to invest money through crypto wallets or other non-traditional channels.
  • Impersonation of Incognito Web Technologies staff through unofficial groups or platforms.
  • Pressure to provide personal information or skip no tasks.

Do not respond to any requests for paid reviews or participate in suspicious “work groups.” If approached, disconnect immediately and report the incident.
